Welcome to the USA Dance Grand Strand website. Chapter 6024 of USA Dance,  formerly the United States Amateur Ballroom Dance Association  (USABDA),  received their charter in 1992 and services the greater Myrtle Beach,  SC area consisting of Horry and surrounding counties.

Dances are held monthly usually preceded by a dance lesson by local dance instructors. Our dances are alcohol and smoke-free and are usually held at the Myrtle Beach Base Recreation Center in the main room with a 2500 sq. ft. dancing area and surrounding tables. Check the
schedule page for time and location. Dress is optional but no jeans or sneakers,  please. Men frequently wear jackets and ties but this is not a requirement. Ladies generally wear evening dance attire. Singles and couples are welcome.

Admission to the monthly dance is $ 7.00 per person for USA Dance members (member ID required) and $ 10.00 per person for non-members. The dance lesson is included in the admission charge. Dances start at 7:00 pm preceded by the 30 minute dance lesson and end at 10:00 pm. You are encouraged to bring a snack to share.

Our mission is to improve the qualty and the quantity of ballroom dancing in the United States.

USA DANCE is a volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational orgnization serving as the National Governing Body for Dancesport in the USA - Member of the International Dance Sport Federation(IDSF) and an Affiliate Member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).

'Freedom To Participate' Policy Defines, Inspires Leadership Role for

USA Dance As National Governing Body for DanceSport
 

 

 

USA Dance, Inc., as the United States National Governing Body of DanceSport, in accordance with the Amateur Sports Act and the rules and regulations of the United States Olympic Committee, believes that all athletes should have the opportunity to participate in DanceSport competitions of their choosing, and, contrary to any misinformation, USA Dance has never in the past, nor has any intention in the future, of limiting or restricting its member athletes from participating in any DanceSport competition held in the United States, North America or any other country abroad.

 

Furthermore, USA Dance extends this same "freedom to participate" policy to any and all persons employed or volunteering to work as a DanceSport official.  This includes, but is not limited to, all emcees, music directors, scrutineers, invigilators and certified adjudicators in the dance industry. 

 

And in accordance with the laws of the United States, USA Dance, adhering to its mission and leadership role in the industry, will not restrict the flow-of-trade nor the right-to-work of any individual within or in conjunction with any dance organization, dance event or related activity, of his or her choosing.
